Postby prometheus » Wed Jul 27, 2011 3:20 pm

guys just installed squeezebox server 7.6.0 on my readynas ultra and done a rescan, now i can not see any of my music apart from 1 album

i followed the instruction and removed the old version and ran squeezeclean before and after evry step but i still get the same, anyone got any ideas :(

during the scan of my music folder it can see there is a large number of files to be scanned but at the end of it i still only get the 1 album.

never had any such issue before with previous versions

What you can do is:

- Fire up the Squeezebox interface
- Change into the "Music" section
- Click on any directory that is listed there

=> The Album/Artist/Titles will *now* show up in your global library, searches, whatever. To get your whole library back repeat the above for every directory with music files in it. And pray you don't have a lot of them ...

Yes, same issue here :(
The suggestion by WhoCares works, although it is quite uncomfortable...:(

Is there any official bug reporting possibility for SBS ReadyNAS port?

As sad as it is I've learned the hard way never to get latest version of SBS right away. Unless you are prepared for stuff like this.

That's right. I've updated, because I haven't read any negative comments, and my friend is also using it with no issues.
The difference is that the majority -including my friend- is using the Windows version.
So probably this is an issue only on the NAS (which is strange from Logitech, because ReadyNAS is the only officially supported NAS. I would expect more testing from their side...)

Most likely you have media share or any other where you are storing you music files.
For example I got:

\\Nas\Music\Albums - and there folder with artists, inside artist Albums
\\Nas\Music\Playlists - here are my all playlists

For me, this doesn't work. I still have only two artists in my library; the artists I selected to play via the folder menu.
Maybe it takes a little time to index the replaced music, but this isn't a good start for setting up my new 'toy' (Squeezebox Radio).

You won't see any update to your music until the index is complete.

Check the Information tab in the SBS settings - it will show you the status of the music indexing

Same problem here. When I did a complete clear and rescan of my music library yesterday evening, it showed 1 artist even I have over 700 files of music in differenc music folders. However I had all artists, genre and albums there this morning... :D I set up my squeezebox server on in order to have a scan of new / added music to be performed every night 3 am. And the first one happened last night. Did Logitech provided a fix overnight? Did the scheduled scan solved the issue? I do not know...

Am I required to install Squeezebox Server on my PC, even if my music is playing from my Readynas?

No - just the ReadyNAS

Then isn't it impossible for me to see the scanning progress?
In my NAS, all I have is two checkboxes.
