The fix did not work for my Pro. I still get "ReadyNAS Remote could not connect to the ReadyNAS server, please check your internet connection and DNS settings. If the ReadyNAS is behind an HTTP proxy, please make sure you have entered correct proxy server settings.". I can ping a DNS address without any problems.

My NV connects without any problem, and I have not done anything on my router (eg. open ports).

The link on the official ReadyNAS page for the guide and installation procedure should be updated to the v0.0.2 fix. ( This one: http://www.readynas.com/?p=1435)

I grabbed the .bin from the link in that guide yesterday, and then hit the connection problems. I didn't have time yesterday to look for a fix, but if the link was up to date this problem most likely wouldn't have arose. For semi-geeks like me a little bit of tail chasing isn't a major problem, however to the un-techs who just want their equipment to work, it would cause unnecessary grief and possibly put people off the Netgear name.

This is not a complaint, just a heads up that the link should be fixed to the newer, working bin, IMHO, of course.

PS. I assume the newer fix works on the older firmware, otherwise just mention it in the guide that a different version is required for newer firmware.

Help,

I have followed all the guides - applied the fixes and still am getting the error message when I try to "manage ReadyNAS Remote". I have no firewalls running yet still unable to get it to work.

Hope someone can assist.

I have installed:

v1.0.9.51 - ReadyNAS Remote
Successfully installed Squeezebox Server 7.5.3-sparc-readynas addon package.

I cannot manage ReadyNas Remote as it gives the following error. How can I fix this?

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, admin@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

This also fixed the "Internal Server Error" message when launching ReadyNas Remote for me too.

New Ultra 6 Plus on a home network with NV+. ReadyNAS Remote works fine with the NV+, but I get this on the Ultra 6:

"ReadyNAS Remote could not connect to the ReadyNAS server, please check your internet connection and DNS settings. If the ReadyNAS is behind an HTTP proxy, please make sure you have entered correct proxy server settings"

I loaded the update from page 1 without success. What should I try now. I really need the remote to work.

Have you checked to ensure that your DNS and Gateway settings under Network in Frontview are correct?

I got the same issue,
android ReadyNAS Remote app works but ReadyNAS Remote for windows does not.
no firewall, no blocked ports, just a message:
"Your connection is not responding, please log and back in to re-establish the connection."
installed hotfix for readynas remote but still the same problem.

Any idea?

My NV connects without any problem, and I have not done anything on my router (eg. open ports).
My problem was eventually fixed thanks to cap1, and the problem was due to me renaming my Pro's hostname which caused an issue with the Remote servers. However now my NV is unable to connect due to the exact same error!

Streaming videos is still horrible! No more than 1.5Mbit/s despite both NAS and remote location being on a connection 20 times faster. So I still have to download the video from my NAS to my remote location to view it, which is what I wanted to avoid.

Is this a fixed remote location? or Mobile?

If fixed, perhaps you can look into setting up your own VPN, which might be faster.
