cant get esxi5 to see isci target on readynas pro 6

cant get esxi5 to see isci target on readynas pro 6

Postby yunotknowing » Fri Dec 23, 2011 10:31 am

So I have a ReadyNAS Pro 6 [X-RAID2], running RAIDiator 4.2.19 that I setup as followed:

Nic 1 >> Plugged into our switch for management, configured with IP: 10.1.0.7
Nic 2 >> Plugged straight into esxi5 server, gig ethernet port and configured with IP:10.10.0.5

I created a iscsi target with a 10TB lun.

I have a HP DL360 G7 running vmware esxi5 with enterprise plus licenses.

I have the eth2 connected to the readynas on Nic2. Eth2 on server is configured with IP 10.10.0.10 and I have a virtual switch in vmware setup specifically for this vmkernel port.

I tried to add storage in the vmware server and cannot see this lun at all.

Can someone help me through this? Thanks in advance for your help.

So, I followed the instructions here: http://www.readynas.com/?p=3030#iscsi this helped me greatly.

I was able to add the iscsi target, add datastore, but not when I create new virtual machines on this datastore, they take for every to create and I am unable to copy any virtual servers from my other NAS running NFS to this ReadyNAS running iSCSI.

Any ideas?
