Might be a simple problem. I have a PC on a different subnet than the Readynas but on the same physical network. They can ping each other and if I put the host on the same subnet then the "host allowed access" feature works fine. However when I put my host on the differing subnet then the feature does not work and I'm constantly promted for an user ID and pass word. So here is a summary of the scenarios:
- (Host NAS on same subnet) Readynas IP 10.1.10.20 - host 10.1.10.21 with host allowed access = 10.1.10.21 ==> You can open share folders and access share subfolders. everything works.
(Host NAS on different subnets) Readynas IP 10.1.10.20 - host 75.111.20.145 with host allowed access = 75.111.20.145 ==> You can open readynas share list and see shares, but when accessed prompted for a user ID and password.
So how can I keep my host on the other subnet and give it access via it's IP but not have to get prompted for a user account all the time. The host in question is on a different IP because its a static public IP to the internet. The NAS is on the internal LAN. The two networks can share data with one another via shares.
Thanks for the assistance.
