Seems to be the only drive I can order in bulk as I have a lot of drives to replace for my Pro unit. Anyone have success?

I bought one and tried. It seemed to format OK but that was as far as it went - I couldn't save data on it :(

I can confirm that it works just fine. I am using RAIDiator 4.1.8 [1.00a043]. I previously had 2 x 500GB drives. When one of them stopped working, I bought 2 new ST2000DM001 yesterday. I inserted the first drive (hot plugged). It took about 4 hours to initialise and approx. 2 hours to sync.
Once the first drive was synced, I removed the old 500GB and inserted the 2nd 2TB. Again it took similar time to initialise and sync. The space allocated was still 461GB. When I returned from work today, I switched the NAS off and back on. On the NAS browser page a message popped advising that first phase of volume expansion had started and the I should reboot the NAS to complete. Rebooted the NAS and within few minutes the volume had been expanded.

I know the question is about whether the drive is supported or not but thought it would be helpful to share the full experience for other users who maybe like me aren't too sure of what is supposed to happen.

I have one running in my Ultra4 (together with a bunch of Hitachi 2TB with similar specs). So far it works fine.

Hi,

I currently have a 2x ReadyNAS 3200 each populated with 6(six) of these drives. All the drives have the same fw:cc46 and have been confirmed working in Seatools, however some of the drives are not being picked up by the NAS from startup. So the NAS sees drives 1-5 when booting up, the LEDs are lit, drive sixs' LED is dead eventhough it has a confirmed working driove in. From frontview and RAIDar it only shows four active drives.

The NAS is running 4.2.20.

Any ideas?

Regards

Hi

I am very close to buying a DUO v2, I noticed the ST3000DM001's are on the hardware compatibility list, but these ST2000DM001 are not there. Any body got any experience with the 2GB version on the DUO v2?
