Snapshot resizing...Will we ever see this re-enabled?

Postby claykin » Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:56 pm

Subject says it all. Snapshot resizing has been disabled for as long as I can remember. The release notes say it will be enabled in a future release. When is that "future release" planned?

Snapshot resizing...Will we ever see this re-enabled?

I've been wondering the same thing. Look forward to an answer by the Jedi.

I'd also like to know. Last firmware that had it enabled was 4.2.5.

Obviously there must still be some concerns over the stability of doing a snapshot resize and the possibility of data corruption or they would have re-enabled it by now.

I am guessing this is why I cannot setup snapshot space on my ReadyNAS. I had previously removed it when the ReadyNAS had less storage but I've added significant capacity recently. I would like to reserve snapshot space but I noticed there isn't anyplace to do that.

You would need to backup your data, do a factory default, discover the NAS using RAIDar, click setup during the 10 minute countdown and choose the amount of snapshot space you want and confirm your choice.
