Have a look at Sphardy's site here... http://sphardy.com/web/readynas/how-to- ... ns/#more-4 ( NB - I was getting browser certificate issues which I've not had before when visiting his site, just in case you have any trouble getting on to his guide.) http://sphardy.com

You certainly can share specific shares to specific users though.

Hi there,

do these instructions apply to RAIDiator 5.3.4? As I cannot find any menus that look anything like this anywhere.
I thought setting share access was easy, but the problem is, they are lost after every reboot of the ReadyNAS duo v2 and it defaults to type ALL and Everyone.
I'm worried about security with these access permissions!

Is there a way to set those Share access permissions in cement?

No that guide relates to the SPARC/x86 devices. I'm not sure if I've seen an ARM device guide posted yet. I know it has a new UI ("Dashboard") so will look different to the stuff on Sphardy's guide, but I imagine the basics of user and permissions are similar in nature, even if it's laid out differently in the new UI.

Thanks for your reply.

In the Dashboard for the duo v2 there really doesn't appear to be any access controls that go to that level of control. You can't seem to setup GROUPS, or HOSTS anywhere (even though these options appear in the dropdown menu) There's no allow guest option, nor does there appear to be any such thing as User security mode.

Here is an example of the access controls on my "Backup" share. They are swtiched to "ON", I've I set the dropdown to "USERS" but it keeps defaulting to "ALL" after a reboot. And you can see that "EVERYONE" has appeared and has read/write access. I just want to make it so only the users I specify have access.

If i select "HOSTS" or "GROUPS" - no values appear at all. Which makes these options seem rather redundant.
