Duo v2 New install. Volume fails.

Postby rc3675 » Wed May 02, 2012 4:32 pm

Hi,

I'm a new owner of a Duo v2
I purchased a diskless model plus a Western Digital WD20EARX drive (which is on the compatability lists).

The machine boots up OK and I get a led showing the drive is installed, however in RAIDar there is no LED under the volume and in the logs it shows:
Wed May 2 23:23:45 GMT 2012System is up.
Wed May 2 23:23:44 GMT 2012The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume.

backup
Wed May 2 23:23:01 GMT 2012Volume scan failed to run properly

I've also tried a factory reset, however I cannot get the Disk 1 led to light, as soon as I press the Backup button, the Power led illuminates, but no mater how often I press the Backup button again, none of the other leds will illuminate.

As such I'm unable to see the volume or create shares. Can anyone assist me?

Can you please post on here how this problem is fixed, I have a new duo v2 and have similar problems to yourself, when I start RAIDar there is no LED present under Volumes, it is not grey, it is not there at all!, when I carry on into Dashboard and Configure the Volume light is green.
To a newbie this is all very confusing, and I hope things get easier setting up everything. :? :?

I rang Netgear Tech support last night, and it was suggested I tried the new Beta firmware, installed this but did not make any difference, so I tried a factory restore, this created my volume, and spent 2 hours syncing, but now all appears to be fine, duo v2 all up and working, now on to the next challenge!!
