ReadyNAS NV+ v2: Volume missing

Postby msimonsen » Mon May 28, 2012 8:58 am

Hello

While I wait, hopefully, for tech support to get back to me, I will try my luck here.

A couple of days ago my ReadyNAS suddenly logged an error saying the paths for shares X, Y, Z etc. could not be found. I logged on to the web interface and the volume "light" is now off. Fan, etc is still on. All the drives in the NAS are OK, no errors logged whatsoever. Why did my volume just disappear?

Logging on with SSH I can see that a file called just "c" is present in the LVM backup directory. It seems to contain the volume configuration. How do I get it back? I would be greatful for any help.

(And before someone start telling med that RAID is no backup, I would just like to say that the NAS IS my backup. The primary system has failed and I need to restore my data from the NAS. Hard to do when it also failed almost at the same time.)

Thanks!

Morgan

Need fix via remote access.
Please give a remote access to us, or just have a phone to netgear local support center.
