Unable to connect to IP address (Case #18686920)

Postby takefive » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:48 am

I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 and it has been working on my Apple network for some time. I went away on holiday and left everything switched off for a few weeks. I have switched everything back on this morning and I can't connect to the ReadyNAS. My MacBook has an IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.65 and RAIDar shows that my ReadNAS is on 192.168.1.74. However, RAIDar 'Setup' comes up with, "Safari can't connect to the server". Also, Finder shows my ReadyNas as both AFP and CIFS but will not 'Connect As....' with an error message "This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later". However, I am the only user.

I have tried switching things on and off etc but without success. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Stuart

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.

Try rebooting your Mac and your router if you haven't already.

If it still won't work then open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include your case number.
