ReadyNAS NV+ not auto updating

Postby JustKJ » Wed Jul 04, 2012 5:45 am

WIth the notices of the Release of 4.1.9, I expected my ReadyNAX NV+ to download and install the update. I have both options checked in Frontview (System-Update-Settings). I am currently on 4.1.8. My NAS is connected to my router and the router is connected to the internet 24/7. I tried to initiate an update by clicking the Update button on the System-Update-Remote tab. It just turns grey for a moment, the spinning Mac beach ball of death appears for a short moment, and then all return to original state, no messages, no activity.

I am happy to manually download and update it, but I really wanted the automatic to work.

The automatic worked for me.

Perhaps your OS partition is getting full?

For the NAS as a whole: Online, X-RAID, 4 disks, 64% of 2771 GB used

Where in frontview can I check the OS Partition? Do I have to login to it through finder as the admin. account?

If i'm not mistaking, to check the OS partition, you have to SSH into your device and run some linux command to check this. The other gurus here know which one :P

You can download your logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs), extract the zip contents and post the contents of disk_usage.log

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.
