AD security groups not picked up

Postby bondbill2k2 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 2:33 am

We are having some issues with our ReadyNAS NVX Business Edition. Since changing our domain I have been able to join the AD and pick up user accounts but for some reason our AD security groups are not picked up which is what I require for the folder permissions.

The DNS, DHCP, NetBios and FQDN have all been set and the NAS is entered in AD in the default location with the default name. The fact it's picked up our user accounts suggests the configuration is correct but I'm stuck with the group issue

Oh and welcome everyone from a newbie to the site!

Just to add we currently have another NAS a older Buffalo linkstation which has integrated with AD and allowed group based share permissions without any issues :) why can't ReadyNAS be like this :?

What version of RAIDiator?

Can you open an online tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include it?

The readynas is a couple of years old so I'm unable to open a ticket. I have updated the firmware to RAIDiator to 4.2.21

NVX (BE) has 5 year warranty. You certainly can open a tech support case at my.NetGear.com

Sorry I missread it  Just tryed to register and it appears our NAS has already been registered with another account so I'll have to ask the NW manager as the device was purchased before I started work here  Also checked out the article linked off the setting up with AD video and I was trying to pick up groups in the Frontview manage groups page, didnt realise I had to log on as the same domain admin I joined with, I was trying to make changes with other domain administrator accounts
