ReadyNas Duo v2 - Help Getting Started With SABnzbd

Postby rozel » Sat Jul 14, 2012 4:37 am

Hi

I downloaded the ARM Bundle which included SABnzbd, have installed Python v2.7.2 then installed SABnzbd v0.7.1. I am running ReadyNas firmware RAIDiator 5.3.5.

No problems with either of the installations but when I try to go to the Web Interface my browsers (Firefox or Internet Explorer) fail to connect saying unable to connect to: - 192.168.0.5:2708. 192.168.0.5 is the static ip address of my readynas.

I am very weak when it comes to things like this and if it doesn't work straight out of the box then I am in a muddle.

Why cannot I connect to SABnzbd's web interface and what can I do about it please?

Could you try re-installing Python (don't remove it first, just install it again) and then likewise for SABnzbd and see if this helps? You may also wish to post about this at http://readynasxtras.com/forum/ or send an email to the email address when you purchased the add-on asking for help.

I sorted it - it seemed that SABnzbd didn't like being passworded :) I removed, reinstalled and just went with most of the default options.

Thanks

Having a username & password specified shouldn't prevent your browser accessing Sabnzbd+. If that IS what's happening it might mean your browser is the problem and not the add-on. Did you have SSL enabled also?

I have SSL and username / password authentication enabled on my Ultra, and it works fine. Admittedly i'm running on x86, not ARM like you. But the functionality of the add-on ought to be the same across platforms.

One thing i would say though, is if you are intending to run Sabnzbd+ without authentication, make sure it's not accessible from the internet, or you might get a surprise you don't want, if you know what I mean.
