Slimserver and iTunes broken with upgrade to 3.01c1

Postby pravenen » Mon Dec 18, 2006 5:37 am

I have been running 3.00c1-p2 (Slimserver 6.3.1). I am able to copy my iTunes music folder and iTunes music library xml file from a Windows XP computer to the ReadyNAS. After entering into Slimserver the paths to the copied music folder and music library on the ReadyNAS, Slimserver reads these files perfectly and I can access the music and playlists, all of which were originally generated on the Windows XP computer running iTunes.

Unfortunately, when I upgrade to 3.01c1-pX (Slimserver 6.5.1), none of this works. I've tried everything, but the only way to fix this is to revert back to 3.00c1-p2.

Any idea why this would break, and how I can get it fixed? Is there a way to upgrade Raidiator but still run the older version of Slimserver? I'd like to try that as a diagnostic step.

Thanks.

After upgrading, did you rescan your files?

Pre-upgrade, here is how it worked: I would set up the paths to the itunes library on the NAS, then I would restart slimserver by rebooting the NAS. On restart it would automatically read the itunes files into Slimserver. This did not work after the upgrade. I also tried manual rescan and that didn't work.

Probably need Skywalker to help you out, but in the meantime, you did wait long enough for the scan, right?

Yes. I'll wait for some other ideas, hopefully.
Thanks...
