The cross-flow fan is going out on my ReadyNas. Your online store says they are not available.

Can you tell me where I can get a replacement?

Thanks,
Dan

Here's what I am looking for:

http://www.shop-infrant.com/RN06-FAN1.htm

Are there any other options? I'm not worried about noise... I just want to keep those drives cool!

According to the logs, the fan is dying and the server shut itself down due to heat.

have you looked at the fan yet? maybe possible to clean it, they build up with dirt easily. i usually blow mine out with a can of compressed air once a month.

try calling infrant to check on availability of the fan, http://www.shop-infrant.com/contactus.htm

Desperate here, too

My cross-flow fan died yesterday... (and yes, I was cleaning it up regularly with air - this is how it lasted 2 years)
Now the hdds become real hot and the device shuts itself down after a while.

I called shop-infrant and I was told the fan is undergoing a redesign so it will fail less, and it will be available only in 4-6 weeks.

This lets me without my NAS device for 2 monts. This sucks, to say the least.

Aren't there any other options of obtaining one of these fans?

There's no re-design of the crossflow fan occuring, there is currently an inventory transfer in progress of the fans and they should be available again in 1-2 weeks for purchase, you'll probably need to contact netgears support via the 1-866 number to purchase them once this happens.

Thanks Grievous, I guess my fan chose the worst possible time to die :)
I'll wait for the stock transfer to complete and contact Netgear again next weeks.

Uh.. is there reason to be concerned? The online shop still shows the Cross Flow fan obsolete and unavailable. Same with the Power Supply for version A.

I need both.. as my Cross Flow fan is already dead, and my P/S fan is having issues too.

I spoke to the someone on the support line and they told me the parts are no longer available, but gave me no alternatives.

I hope my X6 isn't a doorstop now..

Same issue, need to find a source for this fan folks on the 8xx numbers are clueless about this, because they don't see it on the netgear website.

Someone else pointed to this fan which looks very similar and actually seems available, can we use this as a replacement?

Silverstone Cross Flow fan SST-FX121 (google it, it looks the same).

Thanks, I ordered one of the silverstone fans ($30 including tax, shipping), I'll report back here how well it works out.
