NEW: Updated Widget for Mac available

Postby Han Solo » Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:22 pm

We have a updated RAIDar widget for Mac. As before I would like everyone to take a look at and tell me what you think. :D

The newer version now has an AFP button that automatically tries to connect to your AFP share on your NAS. No need for command-k or finder.

Also, all of you that requested additional features for the Widget please ask for them again here, thanks.

Edit: link fixed.

I'm having trouble installing this. When I download, it has a .widget extension, but I think it's supposed to be .wdgt. If I change it to that extension and open, dashboard tells me that it's not a valid widget and I cannot install it.

If I am not mistaken that is the link to the windows version of the widget.

The clue is the reference to konfobulator.

Where's the mac version?

I think this is it.

Yep, I was able to install it. The improvements are nice! As noted, I'm sure people will post requests in this thread. Thanks for paying attention to this widget!

Other Suggestions:
  • Allow input of IP or domain name to monitor a remote NAS
  • I would recommend moving the AFP button to the front (or mapping it to an area that otherwise isn't clicked, so people can get in and out quickly)

Can't Install Widget

Postby Amadeus » Mon Oct 29, 2007 6:00 am

This is not a valid widget here, either...

Could it have to do with me using Leopard?

Edit: Since it doesn't seem to be Leopard related...perhaps some issue with Intel CPUs? Would be good if those without problems state their machine quickly.

Mine (where the widget wouldn't install but the old one still works fine) is an Intel Macbook Pro.

Try using Safari

Postby flynnmj » Thu Nov 01, 2007 7:42 pm

I had similar problems with not being able to install the widget. I was using Firefox, but copying the widget U R L (some sort of filter wouldn't let me type that as one word) into Safari loaded just fine.
