Genie MUSH slower than TrueImage...

Postby JeffL » Fri Sep 08, 2006 4:25 pm

I backed up my documents disk using Acronis TrueImage. It took about 3 hours. I then backed up the same set of files using GBM V7. It was 12 hours. This is the same amount of data and compression to about the same size. Is this normal? 3 hours for me is fine since it can run at night. But 12 hours for every full backup is way to long. Just curious why the big difference. I know TrueImage is copying sectors and GBM is more file based. Any thoughts?

In my experience, enumerated-file backups will always take longer than disk-image backups.
